The eighth human to fall Underground, and the one who witnessed the breaking of the Barrier sealing monsters within. Little about their history on the surface is known, but they have since made it clear that their reason to falling Underground was "not a very happy reason," revealed in brief flashes of misanthropy and distrust of humans. Their history makes it difficult for them to open up to others, though they have gradually begun to be more open and talkative. They are fiercely protective of those they call family, and as they have started to come into their own, have revealed themselves to possess a mischievous streak a mile wide. Frisk's pacifist nature and earnest, playful exterior masks a plethora of complications, most of which have been fiercely and wholly internalized. They favor MERCY above all else, mourn the loss of any life as they consider it unnecessary and avoidable, and judge their own actions on a harsh spectrum. With the power to SAVE and LOAD at will, several strings of neutral runs and an incomplete No Mercy run under their belt, Frisk is a human child who has been given too much power and next to no direction on how to use it. With the passing of judgment at the end of each run, they have come to accept and internalize the ideology handed down to them by the monsters - their life is expendable; everyone else's is not. The longer they remain in Wonderland, the more the true extent of their self-loathing has become evident to those around them. But despite those fears, they remain determined. Determined to stay in Wonderland and never go back to the Underground again, so that they may finally grant everyone else the happy ending they deserve. And...maybe...Frisk isn't really the greatest person. ... But it's okay. They'll do better. They'll be better. They can be good. They'll be what everyone wants them to be. |

I've been running from the pain
Trying not to feel the same
But it's a shame that we're sinking
See, my confidence is shaking
And my heart is feeling vacant
So you try to fill it in
I know it's been a while
'Cause my memory's on trial
For the way I used to be
My head is running miles
'Round in circles and I try
To find the little light in me
You say "I could fix the broken in your heart
You're worth SAVING darling."
But I don't know why you're shooting in the dark
I got faith in nothing
But love, pray for me
I never had somebody
So I don't know how to LOVE
Pray for me
I know I need somebody
So I can learn how to LOVE
Yet the inevitable obstruction arose, as Frisk predicted it eventually might. Back in the Underground, Frisk and Chara both uncovered the truth of the robot's origins as Napstablook's cousin in Waterfall, a ghost possessing his current body. Frisk's Mirror made their knowledge of this fact quite clear. Once he ascertained their story with the Real Frisk, his subsequent hurt led Frisk to allow him to believe that they simply never truly cared for him, thinking it safer for the both of them if he does not get attached to the human child who has no plans to return to the Underground.
Like many of their plans and promises, that, too, failed.
Time will tell as to whether they will come to resent its failure.
