[Hand balling up into a fist, the heel of their palm striking at their temple, as if that might be enough to jar everything loose, the shards of something forgotten, something that can't ever be retraced or retrieved. Words, names of places, names of things that have been taken from them.

Is that what happens to people who stay?

How long until they lose - everything?

Does it matters? Does any of it, does any of it matter if it's just them remembering it?]
